Local owner, clean front of house. Helpful wait staff has us up to speed immediately, on the freshness and homemade care that goes into many of the dishes. Order up some homemade soup, and this was delicious.

This locally owned and operated resturaunt gets it all right in my book. Visit if you are in Detroit.

After eating at (and enjoying) the Grubhouse location in St Clair Shores, they opened this new one close to my work.

Positioned in a strip mall and next to a Subway, I actually saw more people walk into the Subway than here (idiots). I always tell people Grubhouse is like an upper echelon Coney Island, with food costing just a little more but the quality is superior.

This location is much bigger than SCS, which makes the emptiness of tables more noticeable. The service is prompt, they have Pepsi products, and a large menu. Breakfast is served all day, and they have daily specials.

I ate two Coney dogs with fries. The dogs were good, chili was flying off the suckers -- essentially creating my own chili fries, which doesn't upset me. It was good and the fries are great (crispy AF).

My only qualm was that I saw an ad in the local paper touting a $6.99 cheeseburger and fries, saying to mention the ad to a server to get the deal. When I did that the server said I needed the coupon. It wasn't even a coupon though...

Anyway, it's definitely worth a try. It's also good for carry out if you work/live close by.

I don't recommend going to this joint. If I could leave no stars I would. Not only did the food taste absolutely horrible, but the cleanliness was also an issue. I tried sitting down and multiple tables that were dirty. Restroom  was dirty. There was food scraps all over the floor. Not surprised the place was empty!!! Could think of way better restaurants to put in its place!!!

Today was my first eating at GrubHouse, and because I like to eat light, I had the garden omelette without cheese and without hashbrowns I replaced them with tomatoes. I liked the wait-staff's speed and pleasantness; except I got charged 75 Cents for the toast when I expected that would come with it. It was multigrain bread; and English muffins or raisin bread would also have that "up-charge." I came in a little after noon and I was out of there by 12:45 PM, so that was pretty speedy.

    The Wifi PW is igrubhouse2.

I really wanted to like this place. It's very close to the Holiday Inn Express, it is stylishly decorated, employees are cheerful, service is fast, and there's an extensive menu. Unfortunately, the food, though plentiful, is just plain bad. Portions are huge, so if you don't care how your food tastes, this might be a good choice. But the food is tasteless. We certainly won't be going back.
